Founded to reshape the cultural landscape of the GCC and MENA region, Bureau Bayn takes a curatorial approach that merges intellectual depth with aesthetic representation. They engaged MAISON 024 to bring their lofty vision to life through a comprehensive brand strategy and identity. By grounding the visual language in principles of structure and adaptability, we expressed Bureau Bayn’s cultural insight in a way that positions the consultancy as an authority across past, present, and future cultural contexts.

An identity conceptually shaped to bridge the in-between
Creative Direction
The name Bureau Bayn reflects the consultancy’s mission to bridge cultures and ideas. Bureau conveys a space for connection, creation, and collaboration; a gathering point where ideas take shape and evolve. Bayn, meaning “the in-between” in Arabic, captures the possibility present in a space of cultural dialogue and exchange.
The visual identity draws from the Arabic word “Bayn,” meaning “the in-between.” This concept of Bayn, a space of liminality and potential, became the core of the brand’s identity, allowing us to apply layered meanings. We questioned: Is Bayn a threshold between the known and unknown? Is it the bridge that connects history with the present? These contemplations shaped the visual identity and encouraged an ongoing dialogue about where boundaries shift and new possibilities arise.
Central to the brief was exploring the duality of the founder’s heritage, rooted in Saudi Arabia and broadened by her experience in New York. Bureau Bayn embodies this balance, offering a creative space where local narratives and global insights converge.
Wordmark
The wordmark integrates bilingual duality by merging the English “Bureau Bayn” with Arabic letterforms spelling “Bayn.” A refined serif is paired with a contemporary sans-serif to balance contrast in weight and tone, resulting in a cohesive mark that preserves the visual distinction of each component. The Arabic overlay introduces a deliberate spatial tension, reinforcing the brand’s core concept of Bayn, existing simultaneously in duality and unity.
Colour Palette
Drawing from rich, tactile artworks, the palette was designed to interact subtly, adding depth and an ephemeral quality that mirrors the fluidity of the consultancy’s approach. This reflects the cultural roots of Bureau Bayn while adapting to the evolving landscapes it engages with.
