The client engaged us to reframe the bridal styling experience through a departure from conventional aesthetics. Our approach balanced traditional references with a clean, directional sensibility—resulting in a visual identity that reflects the founder’s personal style while establishing a differentiated position within the bridal market.

Nomenclature + Creative Direction

The name TROU/SO is a phonetic distillation of “trousseau,” referencing the bride’s collection of essentials. This reinterpretation offers a modern lens on a traditional term. The creative direction was guided by a clear objective: to depart from conventional bridal codes. From naming and wordmark to palette, each element was developed with restraint and subtle deviation – balancing familiarity with a distinct point of view.

Typography + Colour Palette

Referencing the romance of Victorian-era brides and the intimacy of handwritten letters, the visual direction merges archival influence with contemporary execution. This contrast is reflected in the typographic system, where a fluid script is paired with a modern serif – creating a visual language that balances tradition with a nonconformist edge.

The colour palette adopts a bold, fashion-led approach, introducing saturated tones in contrast to the industry’s prevailing whites and neutrals. These combinations translate effectively across print and digital formats, reinforcing the brand’s distinct positioning at every touchpoint.

Web + Digital

The web and digital experience extend the principles of the core identity—translating the brand’s visual language into an interface that is both deliberate and differentiated. The design rejects conventional bridal UX patterns in favour of an editorial, discovery-led navigation system. Visual cues, typographic pacing, and layout hierarchy were considered to create an immersive digital environment that reinforces the brand’s directional tone and encourages deeper user engagement.
